SUPPORT THE FREEDOM TO READ!

According to the American Library Association's Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) efforts to ban books are the highest since they began documenting book challenges in the US more than 20 years ago.

OIF documented 1,269 demands to censor books and resources in 2022, with 2,571 unique titles were targeted for censorship.

Metro Organization for Racial and Economic Equity (MORE2) is organizing everyday people to stop book banning and protect the freedom to read, without fear of political censorship, in all our education institutions. Protecting the freedom to read is a racial equity issue, as it's estimated that well over 80% of books banned are written by BIPOC authors.

We're asking educational institutions to pass resolutions publicly affirming the Freedom to Read. Add your name to demonstrate your support for the Freedom to Read campaign by completing the form on this page.
